In a unexpected partnership that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "An unusual meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe

- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement."
