Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
